Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Nimbus Hospitality Management. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

The primary responsibility of the SALES MANAGER is to focus on producing and increasing revenue for the hotel. The SALES MANAGER will be required to manage their time in accordance to selling from inside of the workplace office, to directing outdoor sales calls, developing an effective and strong communication relationship with outside companies, completing reports, maximizing room revenue opportunities and attending each and every sales meeting including local events such as chambers of commerce and corporate sales trade shows and conventions and networking with the community. The SALES MANAGER must oversee and manage sales staff and reservation to ensure maximum revenue, promotional coverage and marketing opportunities are achieved.

Sales Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set and achieve goals accordingly with GM.

• Make sales calls and follow up on calls.

• Schedule site tours and luncheon events with new and established companies to keep the communication and relationship strong between the hotel and company. A trustworthy and loyal business relationship is very necessary to keep on top of all the accounts.

• Ensure that the hotel is in line with revenue with its fair market share competitors based on STAR, Hotelligence and other such reports.

• Negotiate local, corporate and group sales efforts constantly. Respond and submit before deadline of all RFP accounts and national accounts is of high priority.

• Usage of the hotel software system Sales Pro is mandatory to report all activity of sales.

• Set budgets, forecasts and produce weekly sales reports.

• Ensure best client service is being made available through communication amongst the team, cross training within the department and appropriate office coverage.

• Works with sales managers to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment.

• Ensure hotel meets or exceeds budgeted goals.

• Work with corporate revenue management sales team to develop and implement sales strategy and promotions, both internal and external.

• Leads must be monitored regularly to build relations with our corporate clients to ensure meeting the hotel revenue goals.

• Recommends monthly room nights target goals for sales team members.

• Oversee and ensure that rates, promotions on hotel website, OTA's (Online travel agents), GDS etc. are updated. Ensure all distribution channels have no rate parity issues.

• Evaluates and drives the hotel’s participation in the various sales channels, Market Sales, Event Booking Centers, electronic lead channels, etc.

• Monitors all day to day activities of direct reports.

• Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).

• Creating a focus on attracting new business.

• All other duties as assigned by the General Manger or Nimbus Hospitality Management Executive.

REQUIREMENTS

Prerequisites:

A strong positive attitude with a happy and bouncy personality to impress the client. Have the ability to have excellent conversation and communication skills. Organization is a must in this field of work. Understanding, following directions or instructions from upper level heads is mandatory. Multitasking, maintaining and establishing a healthy and strong relationship with outdoor clients as well as the associates is a strong requirement expected from this company.

Attendance, performance and displaying participation is mandatory for job performance. Dedication to getting the work done in a timely manner is of utmost importance in this field of work. Willing to refresh and train, if necessary on any computer software that is essential to sales. Applicant must be internally organized in regards to managing his or her time for meetings, conference calls and all sales calls.

Education:

A university degree in hotel management or a related field with Experience in sales and marketing in the hotel industry with clear track record. Excellent computer system skills. Certificate in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) will be advantageous for the position.

Experience:

The applicant applying for the Sales Manager position must have at least 3-5 years of sales and marketing in the hospitality industry or similar. The applicant must have experience with forecasting and budgeting aspects of hotel revenue management.
