JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for using equipment for the assembly and processing tasks to produce finished products according to established specifications. Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.

Responsible for set up, troubleshooting and operation of Ethicon Strip Polish Machinery for Ethicon Cornelia site under the direction of the manufacturing facilitators. Responsible for adhering to all quality and Safety requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Operates production equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products.

  • Interprets instructions and specifications and uses to set up equipment.

  • Checks products on assembly line to confirm that they are properly assembled and removes defective products.

  • Cleans and maintains equipment as needed.

  • Notifies supervisor of maintenance and/or repairs needed on equipment.

  • Prepares accurate records/documentation related to quality and work in progress.

  • Troubleshoots minor production problems.

For Cross Training/Interim Training Purposes:

Strip Polish Operator: Respool

  • Utilize CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) System for data entry and monitoring or the process

  • Perform spool completion activities and start next spool

  • Responsible for start-up, monitoring, process trouble shooting of all Respooling equipment.

Strip Polish Operator: Cardio Needles (Sampling and Testing – SP#3 and SP#4)

  • Use and maintain measurement and inspection devices including microscopes, optical comparator, dial indicators, scales and micrometers

  • Perform process sampling / testing per process documents (Cardio Needles)

  • Utilize CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) System for data entry and monitoring or the process

  • Perform spool completion activities and start next spool

Strip Polish Operator – Cardio Needles (Machine Operations - SP#3 and SP#4)

  • Electro- Polish all needle types using strip polishing lines.

  • Set up and process material through the on line annealer.

  • Use Tinius Olsen machine to test for proper annealing.

  • Responsible for start-up, monitoring, process trouble shooting of all strip polishing equipment.

  • Responsible for performing required attributes and variable test on needles.

  • Able to perform all functions of the job by using CIM.

  • Respool cardio and PS needles.

  • Perform heat treatment of surgical products.

  • Perform voltage checks on machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (FULL STRIP POLISH OPERATOR POSITION)

  • Use Tinius Olsen machine to test for proper annealing.

  • Responsible for start-up, monitoring, process trouble shooting of all strip polishing equipment.

  • Responsible for performing required attributes and variable test on needles.

  • Able to perform all functions of the job by using CIM.

  • Respool cardio and PS needles.

  • Perform heat treatment of surgical products.

  • Perform voltage checks on machines.

Strip Polish Operator – PS Needles (Machine Operations - SP#5)

  • Electro- Polish all needle types using strip polishing lines.

  • Perform voltage checks on machines.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.

  • Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.

  • Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.

  • Use test equipment (Starett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope, etc) where applicable.

  • Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.)

  • Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE’s), if applicable

  • Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.

  • Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.

  • Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Consistently meet required Training due date targets.

  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance as needed.

  • Assist process engineers/facilitators in trouble shooting, process improvement activities.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training.

  • Generally, Requires 2-4 Years Work Experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Computer skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

  • Problem solving ability.

  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, divide, multiply, percentages, fractions, etc.

  • Mechanical aptitude.a
