JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary

The Quality Lab Technician II is responsible for performing complex analyses and tests on a variety of products. This role involves independently conducting sample tests, maintaining and calibrating equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results. The Technician also assists with process optimization and communicates effectively with the Splitter Terminal Operations team.

This position works a Dupont shift schedule alternating nights and weekends.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of analysis and tests of multiple product types (LPG, light naphtha, heavy naphtha, kerosene, diesel, ATB) at various points within the condensate splitter operations process streams.

  • Reports results of sample testing promptly, including reporting substandard conditions, equipment/instrument malfunctions, calibration failures, or other non-conformances.

  • Understands and supports the day-to-day operations and works with Splitter and Terminal Operations team to assist with sample testing as needed.

  • Performs any required re-testing and communicates off-specification results.

  • Reviews reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for adjusting process conditions to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Responsible for completing and maintaining required documentation and records per regulatory requirements and Company standards and procedures.

  • Follows all quality assurance standards and programs. Ensures regulations related to quality testing and safety are met.

  • Operates, maintains, and calibrates equipment used in testing and analysis.

  • Performs basic preventative maintenance on analytical and process equipment as required for laboratory operations.

  • Monitors use and inventories of laboratory chemicals and supplies, orders supplies as needed.

  • Practices site safety and environmental standards. Operates related quality assurance equipment in a safe, accurate, and effective manner.

Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or related scientific or technical field strongly preferred

Work Experience

  • 1 - 2 years related work experience in quality laboratory operations in the refinery or processing industry or equivalent experience from another field/industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: product specifications, testing procedures, and quality assurance protocols is preferred.

  • Skills in: Advanced Analytical Skills: Proficient in performing and interpreting complex tests and analyses.

  • Skills in: Technical Expertise: Skilled in operating and maintaining a range of laboratory equipment.

  • Skills in: Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for addressing equipment and process issues.

  • Ability to: Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for process improvements.

  • Ability to: Capable of working independently while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Expected Salary Range

$70,000.00 - $104,000.00
