The School of Education at SUNY Cortland is seeking highly qualified candidates for an Assistant Dean of Assessment and Accreditation position. The Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation coordinates and directs all assessment and accreditation activities for the teacher education unit at SUNY Cortland. This includes leading the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to candidate outcomes and providing support and direction to departments and programs undertaking self-studies and preparing for major accreditation reviews. The assistant dean maintains the teacher education units assessment system and oversees the preparation of annual updates and progress reports required by the New York State Education Department, the federal government, national accrediting bodies, and other external agencies. The position of assistant dean requires a high degree of communication and collaboration with teacher education program coordinators and department chairs as well as with professional staff in Institutional Research and Analysis, Information Resources, and Institutional Effectiveness. The assistant dean also serves as an active member of the Teacher Education Council and works closely with the dean and associate dean in the School of Education to ensure that all teacher education programs are meeting state and national standards of quality. The position is a 12-month obligation.
