Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not-to-exceed 13 months with possible extension up to 4 years without re-announcement. Responsibilities Provide general information concerning office operations to the public both orally and in writing. Uses Federal Property Management Regulations in concurrence with agency policy to manage and monitor fleet rentals ensuring repairs, inspections, and maintenance as required. Clerical point of contact for Human Resources office to initiate, monitor and track personnel actions, as well as timekeeping duties to include validating time and attendance, proper coding, and hours tracking for 1039 employees. Uses automated travel system and Federal Travel Regulations to assist in the preparation of travel authorizations and vouchers for staff members and ensure timeliness and correctness for processing. Conducts daily field crew check-ins and monitoring of potential hazards such as wildfire activity and weather to ensure crew safety. Uses various types of computer programs and databases to enter data and retrieve information, assists lead field coordinator and other data managers, and serve as a point of data coordination between agencies. Uses procurement principles and procedures to support and manage supply and equipment needs for field crew while maintaining budget, and conducting appropriate record keeping practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. You must meet the qualification requirements to be found qualified. GS-7: - One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-6 level in the federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include preparing general correspondence, entering time and attendance records in an automated payroll system, providing assistance in the completion of records review, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical and Work Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and /or carry file folder's copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles. Education As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
