Description

The Lab assistant supports the culinary program, including but not limited to: Preparing lab supplies and labs for classes, filling and delivery of requisitions, cleaning & organizing storage areas and labs, prepping foods, assisting in inventory, stocking, and cleaning labs. Assists faculty in the classroom.

Job Duties

Assisting the culinary instructors, organize and plan culinary events, complete requisitions in a timely manner, advise and support culinary students, preparing lab supplies and labs for classes.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or experience in an applicable role; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output

  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness.

  • Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision

  • Ability to pass a background check

Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs
