MOFFAT COUNTY Mechanic - Road & Bridge in CRAIG, Colorado
POSITION: Mechanic - Road & Bridge
DUTIES: Performs various skilled repair and maintenance functions on County vehicles and equipment, including: troubleshooting problems, diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, etc.; performing preventive maintenance (tune-ups, oil changes, air conditioner servicing, etc.); and maintaining and repairing maintenance facilities.
- Performs various skilled mechanical functions, including: inspecting, diagnosing, and locating malfunctions; repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems; overhauling transmissions; diagnosing problems; performing failure analysis; rebuilding engines; fabricating and welding parts; lubricating and cleaning parts; and testing machinery.
- Checks or replaces tires as needed.
- Restores equipment, including: replacing parts; priming and painting; performs basic, minor painting.
- Check tow-in and repairs suspension.
- Maintains and upgrades technical knowledge, skills, and development by reading trade publications.
- Performs routine facility/garage shop maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum of 18 years of age * Must have a valid Driver's License * Must be able to pass a background and drug screening * High School diploma or GED; and, * One to two years of progressively responsible related experience * Incumbent must supply required hand tools. * Colorado Brake Repair Certificate * First Aid/CPR
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
WAGES: $23.84 - $29.80/hour

SHIFTS: Full-time - 40 hours per week
