General Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Operations, this influential role is responsible for managing Enterprise platforms including virtual, windows, and storage and backup.
The primary focus of this integral role is to provide operational and strategic oversight for our Windows, Virtual and Storage and Backup teams, aligning to business and IT strategic initiatives as well as best practices for continued process and control and lifecycle management. This role has the unique opportunity to shape and guide the strategy of platforms at Westinghouse, shaping our core infrastructure footprint.
Duties and Responsibilities (in order of priority):
Lead the team to develop, implement, evaluate, procure, and/or support systems and solutions that add the most value to the company through utilization of technically sound methods of investigation, analysis, design, planning, and scheduling Manage the roadmaps and strategy across all platform areas, focusing both on modernization and lifecycle management Ensure standardized deployment, development and support models across all areas of responsibility - bringing new capabilities and methodologies to Westinghouse to support technologies that are newer to the Westinghouse environment Engage with IT leaders and internal business customers to evaluate opportunities for new solutions or advancement of existing capabilities. Align team and organization in accordance with development and operational needs - promoting continuous learning, growth and development to ensure continued capabilities on modern technologies Focus on continuous improvement of existing processes, automation of stable and mature processes, and identification of gaps in processes. May drive cross IT initiatives for continuous improvement in end-to-end delivery. Enhance capabilities within the team to support automation and productivity improvements across I&O, setting the standard and governance models and providing services to increase productivity across all areas of the business. Support annual business investment reviews in alignment with the strategic roadmap and lifecycle management. Facilitate cross team budget and resource allocation reviews. Align individual priorities in accordance with organizational and operational needs - promoting continuous learning, growth and development to ensure continued capabilities on modern technologies. Maintain compliance and governance in support of all company controls, compliance, and security expectations. Ensure that project management, change management and compliance processes are understood and followed.
Job Requirements: BS in Information Systems or similar degree 5+ years of IT experience and background in IT, with a minimum of 4 years in lead/managerial roles None required Leadership of work/project teams, including indirect reporting lines. Understanding of business functions. Strong ability to communicate across a wide audience of IT and business professionals, including technical discussion with IT professionals. Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new concepts and technologies. Demonstrated ability in process management and continuous improvement. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated abilities in decision making, analytical skills, project management, and out-of-the box thinking. Confident and effective in establishing new capabilities and programs, including new solutions, technologies, and/or platforms. An understanding of IT infrastructure principals, capabilities, and architecture. Familiar with IT compliance c ntrols. Preferred - experience across a variety of IT functions, including, but not limited to applications, infrastructure, and service delivery Preferred - hands on experience on a platform team, managing or supporting virtual, Windows, or storage and backup platforms.
