Union County College Graphic Designer (Part-Time) in Cranford, New Jersey

Union County College is a public comprehensive community college providing quality, affordable, accessible educational programs that serve the greater Union County region. It is the oldest of New Jerseys 19 Associate Degree Colleges, serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College enrolls almost 30,000 credit, non-credit and continuing education students and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many programs lead to the Associate in Arts, Science and Applied Science degrees.

Campus: Cranford

General Description:

Within the Department of College Relations and under the direct supervision of the Creative Services Manager, this position will support the College’s creative and design needs. This includes creation and preparation, from concept to production, of detailed graphics, conceptual and finished artwork and visual aids for College projects in both digital and physical production-ready formats.

Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare designs and production layouts for brochures, catalogs, presentations, direct mail, college identity, and web/mobile sites

• Determine the design, layout and formatting of materials. Integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative and graphic elements

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design is required, BFA is a plus.

Experience:

• 3 years of professional graphic design experience

Competencies and Skills Required:

• 3 years of professional graphic design experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.
