The anticipated wage for this position is between $20 and $23.29. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location and other factors.

Schedule : Willing to work occasional early mornings and late evenings, M-F.

The position involves agrobacterium transformation to generate plants, green house experience, and lab keeping. The individual should possess strong verbal and written skills, be team-oriented and self-motivated. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities :

• Moving plant material from agar gel to agar gel

• Moving plant material to soil

• Taking samples of plant material for genetic analysis

• Inoculating prepared seed with gene of interest

• Reporting on performance of tissue culture experiments

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in plant biology, plant breeding, microbiology and at least 1 years of lab experience

• Familiarity and/or experience with tissue culture, sterile technique, germplasm and agrobacterium-based corn transformation are a plus.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $23.29 per hour
