ATI METALS Buyer in CUDAHY, Wisconsin

We\'re hiring high performers as proven as our products. Join us. ATI is currently looking for a Buyer for our Cudahy, WI location. The Buyer is accountable for the execution of policies, procedures, and activities related to the procurement and control of outsourcing to meet the designated departmental, division and company goals and objectives in compliance with legal and ethical standards of ATI. Essential Duties Analyze, negotiate, and award outsourcing work at competitive prices with qualified suppliers. Provide necessary support to ensure continued compliance to ISO 9000:2000/AS9100A. Solicit and evaluate quotations for outsourcing work to assist estimating. Take decisive procurement action in crisis situations having substantial monetary impact, i.e. machine breakdown, critical raw material requirements, etc. Originate and implement cost saving measures to establish lowest end cost and acceptable quality. Review requisitions for quantity, specification, delivery required, etc., for order placement at lowest cost and acceptable quality and delivery. Develop and maintain existing and new supplier relationships to improve quality, service, and pricing. Visit supplier facilities to evaluate their potential, negotiate pricing, and audit production capabilities. Communicate daily with various departments, as required to exchange ideas, solve problems to meet customer requirements, plus contribute to and support the goals and objectives of the overall business plan. Expedite open orders to insure timely delivery. Prepare required reports, i.e., price, trip, market conditions - to inform Management of significant date, trends/forecasts, and pertinent changes. Negotiate and resolve suppliers\' claims in a fair, timely, and effective manner. Basic Requirements Associates Degree (i.e. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Marketing, Economics) 1+ years\' experience in purchasing Preferred Skills Bachelor\'s Degree (i.e. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Marketing, Economics) S.M. (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or equivalent desirable. Essential Skills Verbal and written communication skills are critical. Must be proficient with computer and Microsoft Excel and use of ERP system. Demonstrated mature business judgment and ability to negotiate is required, plus continuous updating of skills is required.
