Sony Pictures Entertainment HR Business Partnering Trainee, People & Organization– Fall 2024 in Culver City, California

This Fall Trainee position is from September through December 13th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This position is ideal for recent graduates or entry-level talent interested in jump-starting their career in a particular field. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, the People & Organization (Human Resources) Trainee facilitates critical human resource processes for the Motion Picture Group and provides assistance to P&O Business Partners. The P&O Trainee performs a wide range of duties within a framework set by the HR department to include confidential data request, reporting, operational, administrative and project support. This role is a great opportunity for someone passionate about furthering their HR career and gain more in-depth knowledge about HR policies and practices in the entertainment industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide project support to a team of P&O Business Partners (e.g., compensation, recruitment, talent planning, learning and development)

  • Manage & process employee data changes such as: promotions, supervisor changes, terminations, contract submissions, compensation request, opening job requisitions, etc.

  • Assist EVP P&O to run quarterly metrics for Motion Picture Group Chairman & CEO and senior leadership

  • Analyze survey data and distribute metrics to P&O BPs quarterly

  • Organize job descriptions for internal archives

  • Assist with creation of spreadsheets in excel, including pivot tables and Vlookup for analysis

  • Provide support to the team to develop excel reports and communication materials for Salary Review

  • Maintain contract reporting. Lead meetings with BPs and ensure accuracy and timeliness of contract actions.

  • Manage and update reporting such as: job requisition report, finance updates by subdivision, etc.

  • Manage nomination process for interns, trainees & all learning programs

  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline HR administrative processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant education or experience in Human Resources

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel (critical), Outlook, Powerpoint, Workday, Sharepoint

  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion

  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral (must have a professional and courteous demeanor
