Engineering Program Manager - Media Experiences and Apple Music

Cupertino,California,United States

Software and Services

Apple Services Engineering (ASE) is one of the most exciting examples of Apple’s long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple’s high expectations with dedication to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. The Media Experiences teams in ASE power incredible playback experiences and media capabilities to hundreds of millions of consumers on our native platforms, and we are seeking a dynamic EPM to lead their program. Thanks to Apple’s outstanding integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers and program managers here partner to get behind a single unified vision. That vision always includes a deep dedication to strengthening Apple’s privacy policy, one of Apple’s core values. Although services are a bigger part of Apple’s business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here. Do you feel a personal stake in everything that you work on, thrive in fast-paced environments with lots of ambiguity, and enjoy working with complex technologies? Do you foster positive relationships, build trust, and influence without direct authority? Do you communicate openly and clearly, collaborate enthusiastically, and value a culture of healthy debate? If so, we want to talk to you!

Description

We are looking for a technical program manager who is passionate about bringing enhanced playback experiences on iOS and other native platforms to the next level—and the technology that will take us there. As a Program Manager, you will work with a team of expert engineers to plan and execute on a roadmap, build capabilities and incredible experiences for consumers, and help build and scale the team. You are the thread tying dozens of cross-functional teams together to deliver end-to-end initiatives. You build positive relationships; you are aware of politics but do not get mired in them; you are constantly looking to improve yourself and your team; you see around corners; and you deliver. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Drive complex, high-impact initiatives related to Apple Music clients or broader OS media remote control capabilities. Oversee multiple concurrent features—driving scope, requirements, timelines, and resource allocation. Define business, functional, and reporting requirements. Own cross-functional schedules. Lead roadmapping, sprint planning, and reporting for one or more engineering teams. Contribute to defining best practices for project management and feature development. Encourage a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and mutual support throughout the organization and in relationships with partner teams.
