Description

We are looking for a creative engineer with excellent practical knowledge of prototyping imaging and sensing systems at the interface of hardware and data processing. The candidate should have experience with sensing architectures, optical light modulation, data representation, and transport to ML-based processors. A nimble design-centric mindset is critical: the ability to rapidly adjust to changes in investigation directions based on insights obtained from experimental data. The candidate needs to be able to clearly articulate what motivates a particular approach, assessing pros, cons, and risks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong background in designing innovative system solutions to multimodal imaging problems

  • Hands-on prototyping and experimental skills for demonstration of innovative concepts with proof-of-concept sensing systems

  • Strong knowledge on sensor architectures and signal acquisition

  • Understands physics-based principles of camera systems

  • Self-motivated, creative innovator with a passion for bringing exciting new imaging technologies to Apple products

  • 10+ years of industry experience in applied imaging systems, and an advanced degree (Ph. D./M.Sc.) in AIML/EECS or similar field

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in designing imaging systems to interface with Neural Network-based data processing pipelines

  • Experience in characterizing sensing system performance including accuracy and power consumption

  • Knowledge in optimization of multi-signal fusion systems

  • Experienced in an iterative prototyping environment

  • Thrives in a cross-functional work environment and is effective communicating across different disciplines

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
