HomePods have redefined how we listen to music, and when combined with Apple TV, how we enjoy big movie sound. These amazing devices enable users to listen to and enjoy their content at home with friends and family. Powered by tvOS and built on the same foundations as iOS, tvOS is evolving continuously by building technologies for the living room experience. We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to lead a team of talented & passionate engineers tasked with leveling up the tvOS speaker experiences by developing new and innovative ways for our users to enjoy content. You will be responsible for building and driving a team that works closely with cross-functional partners to push the HomePod speaker experience. In this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate and lead exciting engineering initiatives by partnering closely with a wide variety of teams across Apple, including AirPlay, Music, Home, Siri and a host of other teams to build and grow Apple’s software ecosystem.

The tvOS Speaker Experience team is committed to delivering the content experience on HomePods. If you’re passionate about leading a strong engineering team to deliver on big ideas and have experience working with world-class, cross functional partner teams at Apple scale, then we want to hear from you! As an engineering leader in charge of an ecosystem-heavy organization, you will tackle complex problems and drive meaningful product solutions based on quality and attention to details. You will be in charge of building solutions that create magical customer experiences across Apple devices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years managing engineering teams that develop commercial grade software

  • Proven track record as a strong and strategic leader in driving and executing an agenda

  • Ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules, and an aptitude to independently learn new technologies

  • Prior experience leading large cross functional engineering efforts

  • Demonstrated expertise analyzing complex features and driving practical solutions

  • iOS, tvOS, watchOS or macOS development experiences with an emphasis on system software design

  • Passion for quality and close attention to detail

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills

  • Deep understanding of technologies similar to AirPlay, and Audio Routing

  • BS CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $252,400 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
