SAIC is seeking a Linux System Engineer with R/MATLAB experience to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support data analysis efforts of Naval gun weapons systems in Dahlgren, VA .

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The system engineer will develop, update, and maintain software on Linux platforms. The Analysis team executes maturing agile processes to iteratively design and develop necessary changes to ensure that the integrity of the software is maintained between new builds and features being added. Analysts on the team provide develop custom data visualizations that are presented to team members and leadership in order for others on the team to understand what is happening as the data flows through the combat system. The position will interface with weapons design analysts, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, code, and develop documented solutions.

JOB RESONSIBILITIES:

• Provide data analysis support of the HGWS system

• Software development, modification, production in R to provide visualizations of the data flow through the system

• Work closely across software engineers to analyze test data to ensure the flow is proper in an Agile development environment

• Support and develop custom scripts that run through R in order to test system functionality as well as find bugs in software data that is collected

• Prepare documentation and support configuration management guidelines

• Present data findings to leadership and sponsors

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. Degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline preferred. Years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

• Ability to comprehendweaponssystem with multiple moving parts

• Programming experience in MATALB/R, as well as Python and Bash (preferred)

• Experience in Data Visualization

• Ability to develop in a Linux environment.

• Critical thinking skills

• Experience in conveying data insights to executive management and stakeholders.

• Quick turnaround times on one-off issues

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

• Must be of U.S. Citizenship with an ACTIVE Secret security clearance
