Element Materials Technology Metallurgical Prep Technician - 2nd Shift in Daleville, Indiana

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Prep Technician whose primary responsibility is to perform metallographic preparation including mounting and polishing metallic samples, polishing and etching macro samples, performing corrosion testing, and preventative equipment maintenance in support of the metallographic lab.

Responsibilities

  • Mount and polish metallic samples (stainless steel, nickel, aluminum, titanium)

  • Polish and etch macro samples for examination

  • Perform corrosion testing of aluminum and steel samples

  • Perform preventative maintenance on mounting presses, polishers, and fume hoods to keep in good condition

Skills / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 3 years of metallographic preparation experience in a lab or industry setting

  • At least 1 years of metallographic examination is a plus

  • Strong organization and information retention skills

  • Self driven and able to work well alone
