About the Role:

Responsible for developing and clearly articulating the vision and growth strategy for the Advisory & Transactions Services (A&T) Healthcare line of business in the Americas. A&T is CBRE’s transactions line of business that is responsible for agency leasing and occupier representation.

The A&T Healthcare leader will define the differentiating value proposition and has responsibility for communicating the value proposition with authority. The leader will engage in coordinating CBRE resources and specialists to develop innovative and differentiated client solutions, and leading interactions with current and prospective clients. The leader will build relationships and synergy across the entire Healthcare platform (e.g., Healthcare Capital Markets, Consulting, Project Management and Facilities Management) to create a unified CBRE for Healthcare clients. Importantly, this leader will also build and foster a sense of community and connectivity among CBRE Healthcare producers in the Americas.

What You’ll Do:

Strategy and Growth

  • Develop and implement annual strategic plans aligned with CBRE plans and in response to anticipated economic and market trends and business targets.

  • Continually focus on developing the Healthcare line of business through building strategic client relationships (existing and new), fully understanding their needs and demands, and ensuring that the Healthcare platform and professionals are developed, ready and able to deliver superior client outcomes.

  • Build an Advisory & Transaction Services business that is the acknowledged Healthcare leader across all relevant geographic markets, sustainably grows its market share in all core and specialty Healthcare sectors and maintains / extends its lead in services where CBRE has the lead market position. Of specific importance is cultivating and engaging Healthcare talent in specialty verticals and further differentiating CBRE Healthcare in these niches.

  • Work with Geographic Market leadership to increase the level of producer recruitment, with particular focus on diversity; specifically target, recruit, and retain key Healthcare talent, including developing and implementing succession plans for key positions.

Market Facing Activities

  • Be the face and voice of the Healthcare platform, promoting the CBRE story and be comfortable and convincing with all levels of clients, peers, industry experts and large format audiences.

  • Continually enhance, build out, improve and differentiate the CBRE Healthcare value proposition, including:

  • Overall Healthcare brand and communications strategy

  • Healthcare Analytics data and visualization tools

  • Healthcare digital and technology products roadmap

  • Healthcare Research and Thought Leadership agenda

  • Integration with complementary Advisory Services

  • Exploration and pursuit of key M&A targets

  • Lead or support Strategic Recruiting efforts

  • Constantly monitor and solution for market trends, opportunities, and competitive threats

  • Develop and help lead an overall Healthcare specialty practice group strategy, leveraging best practices within current groups while refining overall value-add and team make-up.

  • Identify and communicate market trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.

  • Partner with our other lines of business teams to share best practices, pursuit alignment and further our initiatives.

  • Produce internal and external world class events.

Business Development

  • Lead and/or be materially involved in meaningful pursuits and client development in coordination with Geographic Market leaders (and other lines of business leaders as relevant), including:

  • Crafting and proactively pursuing a target list of Healthcare clients.

  • Working with Geographic Market leaders, business development teams and transaction professionals to identify and qualify pursuit strategies and prospects, engaging in sales management team formation, and leading and/or supporting key client development activities.

  • Leading and/or supporting the creation of integrated proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials with the pursuit team and national / local marketing professionals.

  • Leading, guiding, and/or participating in client meetings, presentations, preparation sessions, solutioning and pricing.

  • Completing post-mortems to identify critical success factors in pursuits and using data to consistently strengthen and improve pursuit strategies.

What You'll Need:

The Leader for Healthcare must be recognized as an expert and leader in the Healthcare space. This leader must possess proven leadership and relationship building experience with a focus on Healthcare services. He/she has a strong understanding of industry and specific Healthcare areas of expertise. A strong sense of urgency, solid time management skills, an affinity for creativity and marketing will contribute to the success of the individual in this role. Excellent writing and presentation skills are required. Must have exceptional conceptual skills for an understanding of the larger function of the role. Marketing and finance skills will also contribute to the success of the individual in this role. Travel required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university required. Master’s degree (MA, MS or MBA) preferred. Ten (10) years or more progressively responsible experience is strongly preferred. Possesses strong experience in managing a large, diverse team. Demonstrates knowledge/capabilities in the areas of financial analysis, business administration, legal, human resources, ethical practices, marketing, business development and consultative sales. Fosters a strong service-orientation and an “advisory role” in client relationships. Uses ability to think strategically and to synthesize the most complex business and financial data. Utilizes an entrepreneurial approach and develops innovative solutions.

  • Participation in professional and industry organizations desired. Participates in civic business organizations. Conducts and maintains relationships with industry and trade associations including International Council of Shopping Centers.

  • Ability to communicate effectively to justify or defend sensitive matters with executives.

  • Possess advanced financial skills and knowledge to review the complex financial reports prepared by others and to make recommendations to executives that impact division/line of business/company

  • Ability to review and analyze recommendations and results provided by others that directly impact division/line of business/company.

  • A strong entrepreneurial and creative spirit. Some knowledge and understanding of all facets of property and asset management, leasing, brokerage, marketing, and financial reporting. Is flexible and adept at handling multiple priorities and initiatives. Displays excellent organizational skills. Above-average computer skills in Word, Excel, and Internet usage. High level of integrity and ethics is critical.

  • Decisions made with full understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies and business practices to achieve general results. May recommend changes to procedures, policies and business practices.
