Omnicell Artificial Intelligence Engineer in Dallas, Texas

As a key member of our team in the role of AI Software Engineer IV , you will play a pivotal role in designing and evolving advanced AI solutions that significantly improve the experiences of our team members in Technical Support Services. Working alongside an elite team of AI and Automation Engineers, your mission will involve building, deploying, and optimizing machine learning and generative AI-driven applications across various divisions, including the Help Desk, Field Service, Implementation, and Executive teams.

With a strong background in AI and Machine Learning engineering, you will leverage your expertise in model development, natural language processing, and data engineering to contribute substantially to our AI-driven projects. You'll collaborate closely with our Data Automation Engineers, Database Administrators, and Subject Matter Experts to oversee and refine internal data sets, ensuring they meet the business requirements set by our internal customers.

Your responsibilities will include automating data processing, developing advanced AI/ML models, and building intelligent software applications aimed at reducing customer downtime and enhancing the customer experience. Additionally, you will spearhead the development and deployment of scalable generative AI solutions to advance both corporate and customer engagement scenarios beyond prototype phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize AI and ML models, focusing on generative AI and NLP models, to enhance data processing and improve predictive insights.

  • Engineer reusable, efficient, and testable code in Python, R, or PowerShell to support AI/ML pipelines and system integrations.

  • Build and manage ETL pipelines to prepare data for machine learning and analytics applications.

  • Develop APIs to integrate ML models into various applications and enable seamless interaction with external services.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications that support real-time data analysis and visualization and leverage AI design components.

  • Lead the collection and analysis of requirements for AI-based solutions, ensuring high availability and performance for data-centric applications.

  • Stay current with the latest AI/ML innovations and apply these to continuously improve our generative AI solutions and automation frameworks.

  • Expand application capabilities to include mobile platforms (iOS and Android) if needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to recommend technical, process, and procedural improvements to optimize AI-driven applications and systems.

  • Capability to mentor and train other team members on advanced AI/ML concepts and methodologies.

  • Expertise in ML model lifecycle management, including training, tuning, deploying, and monitoring models.

  • Collaboration skills for working cross-functionally with teams to solve complex technical challenges.

  • Advanced experience with Python, Databricks, R, and other ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and ML deployment services, such as Azure ML, Vertex AI, or AWS SageMaker.

  • Strong understanding of full-stack development to build powerful dashboards and notifications for operational centers with a focus on AI automation.

  • Deep familiarity with machine learning and generative AI methodologies, with knowledge of platforms like Microsoft’s Semantic Kernel, Google’s Vertex AI, or OpenAI API.

  • Proficiency in both front-end and back-end tools and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, D3.js, Node.js) for building tools that support SRE and Operations oriented teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with 6–8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and PowerShell.

  • 3+ years of experience with messaging and streaming services like Kafka.

  • Strong understanding of data engineering and database management, including experience with MS-SQL and Databricks.

  • Experience with developing and deploying RESTful APIs and integrating ML models.

  • Knowledge of machine learning and generative AI techniques, including NLP and time series analysis.

  • Proven ability to work with large datasets and perform complex data transformations.

  • Experience in building AI-powered applications using front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Node.js.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science, with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.

  • 6+ years of experience in AI/ML model development, including fine-tuning LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or similar generative AI applications for chatbots and knowledge indexing.

  • 3+ years of experience focused on automation, data integration, and AI-powered dashboard design.

  • 1+ years of experience in AI-driven solutions for healthcare or pharmaceutical applications, ensuring PHI/PII compliance.

  • Familiarity with cloud architectures, such as AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes, and experience in deploying ML models in cloud environments.

  • Experience in IoT device/asset management is a plus.

Work Conditions

  • Remote environment.

  • Occasional travel (<10%).
