Robert Half Assistant Controller in DALLAS, Texas

Description A well-respected company is looking for a success-driven Assistant Controller with the help of Robert Half. The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller on accounting staff updates. We have an excellent opportunity for a Assistant Controller position. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a track record of identifying problems and delivering solutions. How you will make an impact

  • Formulate relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, key financial metrics, and the monthly flash report

  • Organize multiple procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses

  • Encourage to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development

  • Distinguish and evolve process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

  • Additional responsibilities if necessary

  • Pitch in to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met

  • Seasoned preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  • Advocate implementation and make certain adherence to accounting policies and procedures

  • Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion

  • Backfill for Controller when appropriate

  • Scan and conceive Ad Hoc financial reports

  • Push accountability and the meeting of deliverables Requirements - Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

    • Dynamic accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

  • CPA a plus

  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • US GAAP experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of month end closings

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Proficiency in journal entries

    • Accurate knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
