Job Description:

As the Assistant Director of Career Readiness, you will play a pivotal role in shaping career readiness programs and initiatives aimed at elevating students’ preparedness for the ever-evolving job market. You will collaborate closely with faculty and University Career Center teams to design and implement initiatives that enhance students’ career readiness. This position will also assist in delivering innovative Career Education courses. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for career development, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Assistant Director of Career Readiness is a part of the Career Development Team and reports directly to the Associate Director. This position is responsible for overseeing professional staff dedicated to facilitating career readiness initiatives. It is imperative that this position demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. In addition to utilizing excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of work experience in a career center or similar environment OR Master’s degree in a related field and one year of work experience in a career center or similar environment, preferably within a university setting; knowledge of employment processes (i.e. recruiting/hiring, training, performance management, etc.).

Preferred Education and Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with a master’s degree in student Affairs, Higher Education, program management, or closely related discipline. Direct Career Services and career advising experience, as well as experience in teaching and program development.
