Job Description:

The Associate Director for Employer Relations at the University Career Center will develop and implement a comprehensive employer relations strategy, manage the Employer Partnership Program and Employer Advisory Board, and cultivate relationships with a range of employers to facilitate opportunities for students. Emphasizing networking and outreach, this role involves actively and consistently engaging with employers to build strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.

The Associate Director will collaborate with campus and community partners, provide leadership to the employer relations team, utilize data analytics to assess and improve engagement efforts and represent the University Career Center at industry events. Additionally, this position oversees event logistics and budgets, primarily the career fairs, consults with employers on recruitment strategies, and co-leads marketing and communication efforts to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of the University Career Center’s services. This role is crucial for advancing the mission of the University Career Center and enhancing student employability by aligning resources and strategies with the needs of both students and employers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and five to seven years of work experience in a career center or similar environment OR Master’s degree and three to five years of work experience in a career center or similar environment, preferably within a university setting; knowledge of employment processes (i.e. recruiting/hiring, training, performance management, etc.) and experience working in a high-volume office and overseeing a customer service function.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Preferred experience includes a master’s degree in business administration ( MBA ), higher education, or a related field for an advanced understanding of organizational behavior and strategic management. The candidate should have 5-7 years of experience in employer relations, career services, human resources, or recruitment, especially in higher education or corporate settings. Essential skills involve developing employer relationships, event planning, and executing career fairs, along with leadership experience in strategic planning and project management to enhance employer engagement and student employment outcomes.
