Forward Air Business Analyst in Dallas, Texas

Position: Business Analyst

Job Description:

Forward Air is seeking a Business Analyst to work in the IT department as part of our Forward Air LTL Systems Agile teams. This position will be responsible for Forward Air LTL portfolio of systems including Customer Portals, Customer Integration APIs and other Internal systems. The Business Analyst will be responsible for owning the overall design of assigned technical projects (custom or product strategy), as well as recommending best practices for solutions based on client business needs. This role will require strategic design and mapping of business user stories and solutions to system/technical requirements. The Business Analyst will be responsible for creating/documenting process maps and writing technical specifications for custom development or system integration. These specifications will need to be precise and clear, as the work will often be delegated to fellow team members such as developers, consultants, or used for product support/documentation. This position will require ad-hoc data analysis for analyzing existing integration and/or system issues.

  • Able to effectively facilitate meetings, demonstrate brainstorming/consensus building skills, and interact with executive level project sponsors

  • Use critical thinking to understand data and draw reasonable conclusions

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering, or equivalent experience. Industrial engineers with the desire and experience to work in IT and software development a plus

  • Prefer experience and/or understanding of common processes of Transportation or logistic in general.

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, solutions development, creating business requirements, documenting process flows, and delivering business capabilities

  • Prefer professional certificate in Agile development (Scrum, Kanban, LEAN)

  • Prefer 2 years of experience as part of a team using Agile methodology

  • Require familiarity with Rest APIs

  • Solid understanding of database concepts and ability to write SQL queries of medium complexity.

  • Efficiently handling multiple IT projects simultaneously

  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Visio or other graphical flow chart programs, Jira
