Overview

Triple C – The A&E Group is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer, proficient in Revit to develop and manage all aspects of technical design and specifications development. This position coordinates within a remote, virtual working environment with a team of mechanical engineers, architects, interior designers, subconsultants, and owners, providing expertise in the full-project cycle from design through construction, primarily within the healthcare market.

As a Civil Engineer you will be asked to generate and manage all aspects of production, design, and construction administration to ensure a quality product meeting the requirements of the contract are satisfied. While the Project Manager or Department Head may specify your workload, the Civil Engineer focuses on designing, modeling, and producing the Civil Engineering discipline deliverables identified in the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). For civil design focused projects, you will most likely be the Project Manager.

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • 5 years minimum experience

  • Experience with LIDAR 3D scanning and modeling techniques

  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer, licensed for a minimum of 5 years. (CA, AZ, TX, and NM stamps preferred with ability to be licensed in any US state. Clean engineering record.)

  • Experience in civil engineering design – hospital, essential facility, government (federal, state, and local)

  • Software Requirements:

  • REVIT / AUTO CAD *

  • BLUEBEAM

  • LEICA SUITE

  • MICROSOFT SUITE OF PRODUCTS (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)

  • RENDERING PROGRAMS A “PLUS”

Representative examples of responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Civil design for multiple, simultaneous design and construction projects

  • Interpretation of geotechnical findings, utility surveys and record drawings

  • Reviewing code compliance and resolving safety issues

  • Evaluating existing conditions and new projects to assure they satisfy all guidelines and specifications

  • Use of Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling to create drawings and schematics

  • Integration of LIDAR 3D scans into Revit site models

  • Manage Revit model coordinate systems using survey control points

  • Detail production and library maintenance

  • Author specifications, redlines, and edits

  • Generate narratives and redlines

  • Perform hydrologic calculations

  • Perform load calculations

  • Create PDF publication

  • Updates of the model and PDFs on collaboration site

  • Perform Construction Administration

  • Participate in submittal and RFI reviews

  • Perform construction inspection tasks

  • Provide 3rd party Quality Control/Quality Assurance reviews

  • Perform historic preservation civil design

  • Participate in team and client meetings

  • Develop cost estimates for construction projects

  • Develop project schedules

  • Manage civil engineering design team and permitting tasks

  • Perform roadway design

  • Perform utility design

  • Perform topographical generation from LIDAR and corridor modeling

  • Collaborate with Architectural and MEP Engineering teams to include conversion of concept level Revit models to engineering drawings. This may be an iterative process

  • Demonstrate strong quality control, visual, mathematical, management, and organizational fundamentals

  • Demonstrate understanding of budget and design limitations

  • When necessary, travel to client meetings and job sites
