Overview: As a Commercial Construction Plumbing Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating plumbing activities on commercial construction sites. You will lead a team of plumbers and helpers, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and according to specifications.

    Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair pipes, joints, valves, drains, and fixtures in all types of structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications and plumbing codes.

  • Supervise field workers and subcontractors, overseeing field installation activities in a designated area to ensure quality and efficiency.

  • Provide necessary tools, equipment, and installation materials to the work area prior to the arrival of workers, facilitating smooth operations.

  • Instruct workers on installation procedures through detailed verbal explanations or sketches, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

  • Organize materials and expedite availability of tools and equipment to maintain workflow and productivity in the work area.

  • Inspect the quality of installation workmanship regularly to uphold standards and address any deficiencies promptly.

  • Coordinate and call for code enforcement inspections as required throughout the project phases.

  • Daily mark-up as-built drawings to accurately reflect changes and progress on site.

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, promptly responding to incidents and ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.

  • Ensure compliance with current plumbing rules and regulations to achieve successful inspections on the first attempt.

  • Maintain detailed records of time spent on jobs and materials purchased, accurately tracking project costs and resources.

  • Respond to plumbing emergencies, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs promptly and efficiently.

  • Provide daily guidance, training, and direction to plumbing crew members, including journeymen, mechanics, and apprentices/helpers.

  • Practice preventive maintenance of plumbing tools and equipment by conducting regular spot checks to ensure proper working condition.

  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned by management to support project goals and organizational objectives.

    Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Texas Plumbing Journeyman License required, additional education or certification in plumbing, construction management, or related field preferred.

  • EPA Universal and OSHA

  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of proven experience as a Commercial Construction Plumbing Foreman or similar role in commercial construction projects, with a strong understanding of plumbing systems and installation practices.

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues on-site.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
