You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

  • Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time Requirements - Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Vow to meet business deadlines

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
