Texas Instruments Design & Engineering Team: High Voltage Electrical Engineer in Dallas, Texas

Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a High Voltage Electrical Engineer at TI, you’ll be directly responsible for overseeing the design of high voltage electrical systems for our new semiconductor wafer fab and Assembly/Test facilities. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI’s manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Responsibilities include:

  • High voltage and Medium voltage Protection and Control design and planning

  • Smart device interconnection design and planning

  • High Voltage DC distribution design

  • Wholistic system commissioning planning and execution

  • Create Owner Project Requirements for high voltage system

  • Work with engineering/design company to deliver high voltage electrical design on-budget, on-time with high quality

  • Participate in weekly workgroups with high voltage designer to ensure design is progressing

  • Execute design reviews at major milestones, 30%, 60%, 90%

  • Complete specifications and participate in bid process for necessary high voltage long lead equipment on projects

  • Review submittals in timely manner from long lead equipment vendors

  • Respond to RFI's and issues related to high voltage scope

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related

  • 5 years’ experience in high voltage electrical engineering, design and construction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery

  • Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships

  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientation and ability to take ownership for issue resolution

  • Proficient with PC hardware and windows based applications

  • Ability to analyze existing systems and associated monitoring equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems

  • Ability to develop and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Sequence of Operations, I/O lists, panel drawings and instrumentations lists
