Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced Facilities Control Engineer to join our team. As a Facilities Engineer at TI, you’ll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI’s manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Operational Excellence: Partner with facilities and operations teams to implement integrated systems that improve real-time monitoring, condition-based maintenance, and process automation, while maintaining robust systems. This involves merging physical systems (such as machinery, sensors, and controllers) with digital systems (such as data networks, communication protocols, and enterprise applications) to ensure seamless communication and data flow.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop and apply advanced analytics techniques to extract actionable insights from facilities systems data, driving informed decision-making and process optimization. You will work with data analytics tools and methodologies to collect, process, and analyze large data sets.

  • Digital Transformation: Utilize digital twin technology of facilities industrial systems and equipment, to enable real-time monitoring, simulation, and optimization of manufacturing processes.

  • Innovation and Growth: Implement Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions to connect and facilities systems and equipment, improve data collection, and enhance condition-based maintenance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related

  • 8 years of experience in facilities engineering, operations or a related field

Preferred requirements:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets and automate data extraction.

  • Experience with:

  • PLC programming and SCADA systems for industrial control systems

  • Data analytics tools and methodologies (e.g. SQL, Python/R, Tableau, Power BI)

  • AI, ML, and IoT platforms for data-driven decision making and control

  • Robotics and digital twin technology for process optimization and simulation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work closely with facilities engineering, operations, and IT teams to understand their needs and provide tailored technology solutions in a complex and dynamic environment.
