Advancial Financial Analyst in Dallas, Texas

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

A high performing Financial Analyst to work on the finance team. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President – Finance and Accounting and will conduct analysis to measure organizational and product profitability. The position will assist in the preparation of budgets for the credit union and credit union’s subsidiaries, and assists in analyzing risk through use of asset-liability management systems. Gathers data; prepares routine and ad hoc financial and statistical reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. In addition, other duties may be requested/assigned.

Prepares quarterly risk analysis using the asset-liability management model. Creates various interest rate scenarios in our asset-liability management model after the standard up and down 300 bps rates models are complete.

Prepares in-depth cause and effect analysis on a variety of complex financial issues to include, but not limited to maintaining and enhancing financial reports in various systems for new general ledger accounts and calculations and some general ledger monthly reconcilements in particular mortgage loans held and mortgage loans held for sale.

Prepares and reviews monthly financial statements, and produce variance analysis to understand actuals to budget and trend analysis.

Coordinates the preparation of the annual budget and capital planning process; includes preparation of various ad-hoc reports to provide in-sight into the budget.

Maintains branch profitability reporting including removing and adding branch locations.

Supports in providing ALCO and Board of Directors reporting in a timely fashion.

Prepares the quarterly investment report and NCUA Call Report.

Maintains the daily cash management; reviews liquidity position. Prepares worksheet indicating anticipated cash flows and outflows to be used in determining borrowing/investing requirements.

Prepares monthly Tiered Loans Analysis (Tiered Lending Report), in addition to other analytical financial modeling, statistical and operational analysis.

Backup support for the process of secondary marketing of mortgage loans to FNMA and participation loans to outside third parties.

Assists in pricing and managing the pipeline for mortgage loans and other loan types as needed.

Manages servicing inquiries for the mortgage company’s mortgage loans.

Develops procedures relating to areas of responsibility.

Performs special assignments requested by the AVP-Finance or CFO.

Maintain an understanding and competency with respect to software and other systems required to perform the duties of the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The base range for this position is $66,000/yr. - $83,000/yr. based on experience, plus up to 8% incentives.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university in either Finance or Accounting and four years of experience in a Finance position, including experience with financial modeling and analysis. A minimum of three years’ experience using Excel; including pivot tables, graphs and charts.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrated experience using financial reporting software and tools as well as budget software to include but not limited to Prophix Budget Software, Moody’s ALM, and Microsoft Great Plains and Management Reporter.

Demonstrated experience building financial models

Adaptability and flexibility in use of analytical approaches pertaining to financial issues.

Advanced aptitude in problem solving, including the ability to logically structure an appropriate analytical framework.

Working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Office Suite.

An understanding of state and federal laws.

Fosters a positive culture throughout the organization. Promotes respect and harmonious relations among accounting staff and with departments throughout the organization.

Ensures positive relationships with the branches, internal departments and external partners. Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
