Topgolf Operations Safety Manager in Dallas, Texas

This role is responsible for actively supporting Topgolf's positive safety culture.

The Operations Safety Manager will report to the Director of Environmental Health & Safety and will work to develop, communicate, and coordinate general safety policies, procedures, programs and practices to ensure Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable state, local, and federal safety compliance programs, and to help maintain a safe environment for Topgolf Playmakers and Players.

The role will approach safety as a continuous process of improvement, partnering with other departments and involving Playmakers in all levels of the organization to integrate safety into core business processes and everyday work practices.

The role will develop and communicate safety expectations in line with company values, promote the development of attitudes that support proactive, safe behavior, and motivate and inspire others to share ownership of Topgolf's positive safety culture.

Primary Responsibilities

SAFETY BRAND STANDARDS: Work with Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Facilities, Operations, and other departments to establish Company brand safety standards, emergency response plans, policies and programs that provide a safe environment and experience for all Topgolf Players and Playmakers as well as compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements. Continually evaluate to ensure continuous hazard elimination and mitigation, compliance with evolving regulations and company growth.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOPs): Work with other departments and outside subject matter experts to develop SOPs that enable trained, qualified Playmakers to safely complete their job tasks in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

SAFETY MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM: Develop and maintain processes for documenting workplace injury investigations to determine root cause and preventative measures, along with development and completion of all required OSHA and Bureau of Labor Statistics required reporting, provide periodic performance reporting and trending to company leaders.

SAFETY TRAINING: Provide support and act as a subject matter expert in planning, developing, organizing and implementing safety onboarding and recurring safety training for all Topgolf Playmakers. Ensure content of venue Manager and Playmaker safety classes as well as other facilitated and online safety training align with Topgolf’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

VENDOR MANAGEMENT: Oversee and manage third party vendors of safety related supplies, training and services (First Aid, Life Safety training, crisis hotline, AED program) to include selection of vendor partners, contract negotiation, establish scope of work, account maintenance, operational execution of programs and services and ensure vendor performance to established metrics.

SAFETY AUDITS: Work with Operations and other internal stakeholders to design, coordinate, implement and track performance of internal safety audits to help evaluate current safety programs, policies, procedures and work practices and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENTS: Work with construction, facilities, operations, and other departments to ensure OSHA and applicable safety and health standards, ergonomic considerations, and sound safety and fire protection engineering techniques are used in the planning, construction and operation of venue facilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to analyze and interpret Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations

  • Ability to plan, develop, organize and implement effective occupational safety standard operating procedures, programs and training

  • Ability to gather and evaluate information, and to conduct thorough investigations and inspections

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or college course work equivalent from an accredited college or university

  • Major study in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field preferred

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred

Experience

  • At least 10 years of Occupational Safety and Health experience with direct with experience in the creation and coordination of OSHA-required programs and policies, hazard identification and mitigation required

  • Safety experience in the restaurant / hospitality industry a plus
