Description
The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the payroll function across multiple states and entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is critical in maintaining accurate and timely payroll processing, managing payroll systems, and collaborating with various departments to support the overall business objectives. Experience in the hospitality, retail, or restaurant industries is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the payroll process for multiple states and entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Manage the end-to-end payroll processing, including time and attendance, tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits administration.
Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, salaries, bonuses, and other compensation.
Maintain and update payroll systems and records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Prepare and submit payroll reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to address payroll-related issues and provide support for audits and financial reporting.
Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies or issues promptly.
Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Train and supervise payroll staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with a focus on multi-state and multi-entity payroll.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Experience in the hospitality, retail, or restaurant industries is highly preferred.
Proficient in payroll software and systems; experience with [specific software, e.g., ADP, Paychex] is a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
