Robert Half Purchasing Agent in Dallas, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in Dallas, Texas. This role involves supporting the Purchasing department in tasks such as sourcing new suppliers and products, negotiating prices and terms, preparing purchase orders, tracking orders, maintaining detailed records of purchases, and developing reports on purchasing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the supplier base, including sourcing new suppliers and maintaining relationships with existing ones

• Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms

• Prepare and submit purchase orders in a timely manner

• Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure timely delivery of ordered materials and products

• Maintain a detailed record of purchases, deliveries, and inventories

• Track and monitor the status of purchase orders and address any issues or discrepancies

• Prepare reports on purchasing activities and cost analysis

• Manage the return of defective items

• Stay updated with market trends and relevant product developments

• Utilize ERP Solutions and Microsoft Excel for managing and tracking purchasing activities. Requirements • Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Experience with IBM AS/400 and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with About Time software

• Proven track record as a Buyer, with a strong understanding of Buying Processes

• Experience in Component Selection

• Excellent Customer Service skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure

• Ability to maintain professional relationships with suppliers and customers

• Comfortable with negotiating prices and terms with suppliers

• Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement

• Ability to gather and analyze data

• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques

• Strong aptitude for numbers and financial data.
