Description

The Purchasing Manager supports all manufacturing facilities, the corporate office, marketing, finance, and IT while providing solutions to sourcing challenges within a dynamic environment. This position is expected to demonstrate the ability to advance within the organization.

Principal Duties:

  • Supplier Management:Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews.

  • Contract Negotiation:Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional team across the organization to qualify vendors.

  • Procurement Strategy:Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure a continuous supply of necessary materials while minimizing costs and managing risk.

  • Inventory Management:Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overstocking or stockouts. Collaborate with the production and logistics teams to forecast demand and adjust purchasing plans accordingly. Ensure supply chain contingency plans.

  • Cost Control:Monitor and control purchasing budgets. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Quality Assurance:Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that all purchased materials meet the required standards and specifications. Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly.

  • Process Improvement:Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.

  • Data Analysis:Analyze market trends, demand patterns, and supplier performance data to inform purchasing decisions. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.

  • Team Management:Lead and develop a team of purchasing professionals. Provide training, support, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing team.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum t en years in the buying, sourcing or procurement function. Experience in dairy or food industry required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain.

    Skills:

  • Experience with setting up and developing processes and protocols in Microsoft D365 or another ERP system.

  • Curiosity as it relates to purchasing and financial systems management.

  • Proven track record of working with teams and providing organizational direction.

  • Negotiating and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational ability and multi-task capabilities.

  • Logical thinking processes and problem-solving expertise.

  • Results oriented and highly customer focused.

  • Strong analytical aptitude.

  • Supervisory experience.
