Registered Nurse (RN)—Medical ICU (MICU)

Are you ready for a change? Looking to be more challenged and a part of change? O ur Medical ICU is looking for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse , for our MICU Unit. Come join the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Team at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, a MAGNET facility!

LOCATION : Texas Health Dallas is located at 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

SCHEDULE : Full Time: 7 PM -7 AM for a total of 36 hours a week with some weekends and holidays.

MEDICAL ICU DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS:

A Medical ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse position requires a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Our ICU Units are located in the Hamon Tower, the largest expansion in the hospital’s history which opened in 2009. The new medical complex is devoted to intensive care for the region’s most critically ill patients. Our intensivist program puts the care of ICU patients under the guidance of board-certified critical care physicians, who directly oversee patient care in the ICU throughout the day. Physicians are available 24 hours. Critical care nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants — all trained in critical care medicine — help provide care in the ICU around the clock.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) Required

· BSN preferred.

· 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required;

· One or more years of ICU experience strongly preferred; would consider Emergency, PACU or PCU

· Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.

· 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required;

· RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support --Prior to providing Independent patient care and maintained quarterly

· ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support--within 90 days of hire

· CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 60 days of hire is required

SKILLS:

· The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.

· The professional nurse demonstrates an appreciation of unique meanings by:

· active listening and exemplifying a non-judgmental attitude

· The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

· Perform other duties as assigned
