Job Description:

The Research Technician will be responsible for conducting and assisting in in vivo small animal experiments under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or a senior researcher in the lab. Efficient organizational skills, attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and strong communication skills are required. In addition to performing experiments, the research assistant will also be responsible for general lab maintenance, including ordering and inventory, preparing standard reagents, maintain lab protocols and safety records, etc. This position is an ideal opportunity for a recent post-bachelor interested in preparing for graduate or medical school.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires High School graduation or equivalent and six months of experience in scientific research work. Working knowledge of the various types of equipment in use in the laboratory to which assigned. Extreme accuracy in preparing materials and recording data. Normal laboratory conditions. Sometimes requires working with hazardous equipment and materials or in hazardous environments.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Recent graduated with a bachelor’s degree or above in Neuroscience or other biology/biochemistry related major.
