As the Sr. Data Scientist, you be a critical partner to the business as you apply AI/ML/ Data science techniques to solve complex business problems and generate actionable insights (prediction, forecast, recommendations) for Customer Solutions to improve performance, optimize contract outcomes, and refine pricing strategy.

What you will do

  • Translate stakeholder requirements and/or pain-points to potential data science solutions independently.

  • Lead discussions with Stryker enterprise across functions to leverage domain expertise and capabilities.

  • Lead and deliver presentations and communications that build data science credibility and rapport to a medium-sized group with some guidance.

  • Lead and mentor others' root cause/problem-solving efforts, including advanced troubleshooting.

  • Provide helpful insights in discussions on identifying opportunities where machine learning can be applied to real-world business opportunities with key stakeholders.

  • Use your strong background in applied AI/data science to solve business problems.

  • Deliver successful machine learning projects related to sales and commercial operations.

  • Provide tactical execution and delivery of projects within the team's project portfolio.

  • Understand business needs, translating them into Data Science solutions, and take a lead role in the execution of project deliverables.

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field with applicable data science work experience required.

  • Master's Degree or higher in Data Science or quantitative discipline preferred.

  • 4+ years professional experience in a related role required.

  • Proficiency in programming language central to AI/Data Science (e.g. Python, etc.) and proven experience applying it to business problems in sales, commercial operations (pricing, contracting revenue, profitability, etc.), and marketing required.

  • Proficiency in the statistical models used in forecasting, predicting, and recommending optimal scenarios (e.g. time series, causal methods (like econometric), judgmental forecasting, and qualitative methods (like Delphi and scenario planning, and classification) and experienced/advanced in at least two techniques required.

  • Experience in identifying the most appropriate statistical tool for a particular use case and project required.

  • Proficiency in cloud-based native tools such as Azure services, Azure resources, data storage (SQL), business intelligence (Power BI), CI/CD, MLOps, and GitHub for versioning control required.

  • Familiarity with a variety of visualizations (e.g. correlation heat maps, bubble charts) and tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau, similar) required.

  • Experience in software development lifecycle concepts, tools, and best practices required.

  • Experience with end-to-end data science and app development projects: from problem and requirements definition to model/algorithm validation and deployment required.

  • Experience with web application and user Interface development (i.e. making drafts in Figma, etc.) in R Shiny, Flask, etc. preferred.

  • Infrastructure as code is a plus.

$ 98,000 - $ 210,100 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
