Jacobs Senior Energy Technologist – Remote in Dallas, Texas

Our team works on a wide variety of energy and decarbonization technologies with application in the energy transition, such as: solar, geothermal, wind, short-(BESS) and long-duration storage, low carbon fuels, and thermal generation in applications from micro-grids / distributed energy resources to utility scale installations.

For our broad and varied client base, we provide consultancy and project development services, including planning, feasibility and modelling studies, specifications, engineering services, and commercial and technical due diligence.

This role is to support and expand our ‘energy solutions’ offer, leading with astute advisory services and exceling in technical delivery of innovative, complex, multi-technology solutions to our clients.

The role will also support business development, client interactions, proposal development and project execution.

Location; Remote, Pacific Time Zone preferred

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering, with ten years’ post-graduate professional experience, ideally in the consulting sector.

  • Solid knowledge of the renewable power sector, its key stakeholders and regulatory environment, and well-established network of contacts with industry stakeholders, developers, off-takers, government representatives and financial stakeholders in the renewable energy industry.

  • Broad understanding of energy technologies and their respective applicability to project solutions and able to translate client goals in to planning and feasibility studies.

  • Experienced in advancing projects through the planning and feasibility study stage in to engineering design.

  • Experienced in leading technical due diligence is preferred

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.

  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.

  • Previous consulting engineering experience required.

  • Good communication skills and interest in engaging with clients to grow relationships.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experienced in building and leading teams of multidisciplinary subject matter experts
