In this highly technical and customer-facing role, you will engage directly with customers to understand their business drivers, network architecture needs, and design reliable, cost-effective, and scalable cloud networking solutions on AWS, including cloud native network functions (CNFs).

As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices for operating and optimizing network workloads and CNFs on the cloud. You will provide strategic guidance on migrating existing network infrastructure and services to AWS, as well as implementing modern, cloud-native network architectures leveraging CNFs. You will build deep relationships with senior network engineering leaders to enable them as cloud advocates within their companies. You will drive revenue growth by formulating and executing sales strategies with the AWS Sales team, focused on network modernization and CNF opportunities. This involves mobilizing AWS networking teams, service teams, and partners to ensure successful implementation of enterprise networking solutions and CNFs on AWS. Additionally, you will capture and share networking and CNF best practices across AWS, including authoring customer-facing content like whitepapers and blogs.

The ideal candidate has a passion for cloud computing, modern network architectures, and cloud native technologies, with deep expertise in enterprise network operations, engineering, and cloud native network functions. You must have broad competence across networking technologies like routing, switching, VPNs, SDN, cloud networking and hands-on experience using AWS networking services and deploying CNFs. The ability to map network and CNF solutions to business objectives is critical. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with network professionals and business stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Self-motivated to drive network transformation and CNF adoption for enterprise customers on AWS

  • Excited to work closely with customers on cloud networking strategies, architectures and CNFs

  • Deep expertise in designing, operating large-scale distributed network architectures and CNFs

  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking services, CNF deployment models, and tools

  • Communicate effectively across all levels, from network engineers to CXOs

  • Think strategically about aligning network, CNF solutions to complex business requirements

  • Become a trusted advisor for migrating, optimizing network workloads and implementing CNFs

  • Drive business engagements for cloud networking strategies, architectures, and CNF roadmaps

  • Educate on AWS networking, CNF capabilities and ensure secure, performant designs

  • Collaborate across AWS teams for new networking, CNF solutions and customer implementations

  • Promote AWS cloud networking and CNFs within the enterprise and service provider communities

  • Assist partners in building, deploying and operating cloud network architectures and CNFs

  • Share networking and CNF knowledge through AWS whitepapers, blogs, technical content

  • Influence AWS networking and CNF roadmaps by representing customer needs

A day in the life

In this role, your typical day will involve partnering with enterprise customers, AWS Sales teams, and internal AWS networking specialists to design and implement highly scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud networking architectures. You will leverage your deep expertise in network engineering, operations, and cloud native network functions (CNFs) to deliver impactful business solutions, defining cloud-native reference architectures that accelerate customers' network transformation journeys to the cloud.

A core part of your role is acting as a trusted customer advocate, helping organizations understand best practices for operating and optimizing network workloads and CNFs on the cloud. You will shape strategies to drive mindshare and adoption of AWS networking services and CNF solutions across customer network engineering teams, utilizing your ability to think strategically about complex networking requirements and business objectives.

Your creativity will be channeled into developing new architectural patterns, reference implementations, and technical content focused on cloud networking and CNFs. You will author whitepapers, solution guides, blog posts, and sample configurations to share your expertise across AWS and the broader networking community. You will evangelize AWS's networking and CNF capabilities through workshops, conferences, webinars, and hands-on training sessions.

Your day will strike a balance between customer meetings, designing networking and CNF solutions, proof-of-concept implementations, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing. The AWS Solutions Architecture team provides an immersive environment with self-paced labs, instructor-led training, hands-on projects, job shadowing, and mentoring to expand your skills in AWS networking, adjacent cloud services, and modern network architectures. You'll bring a passion for emerging technologies and an insatiable curiosity to understand the latest cloud networking innovations to deliver impactful outcomes for customers.
