  JOB SUMMARY

  The technicians in Tier 1 will have mastered the skills trained in the Tier 3 and Tier 2 job specifications. In addition, a Tier 1 technician will have achieved additional levels of on-line training and approved off site training and specified below. A technician will not be considered for Tier 1 advancement until they have a minimal of five years on the job training.

  ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO THOSE STATED IN TIER 2 & 3 DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Completed advanced online portion training in Mack & Volvo in our Dual branded locations and single brand in those single branded locations. This requirement may also be met using Cummins Training, Medium Duty Training, & or Allison training.

  2. Actively working on approved off-site training prerequisites and or attending off-site training towards a certification in the agreed upon training path.

  3. Advanced knowledge of: (Air System, Fuel Systems, After treatment systems etc.)

     EXAMPLES OF SKILLS NEEDED TO MASTER THIS LEVEL

  4. Performs timely repairs, minimum 90% efficiency and 80% Proficiency.

  5. Performs quality repairs should have minimal rework based on value, frequency, and managerial discretion.

  6. Ability to lead & train Tier "2" & "3" Technicians.

  7. Can diagnose and repair advanced electronic, lighting, and electrical systems.

     PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

  8. Complete all Tier 2 & 3 Job Role Requirements.

  9. Must complete a Minimum of 3 items listed below.

  10. Complete in 3 areas of the ASE “Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Certifications”

  11. Master Certified in at least 2 Mack or Volvo Pro-Path Segments.

  12. D.O.T. Inspection Certified.

  13. Certified in at Least one Cummins engine platforms.

  14. Certified in a Medium Duty (Hino, Mitsubishi, or Isuzu)

  15. Allison Transmission Certified (one)

  16. Have valid Commercial Driver’s License.

  17. Active in the Safety Committee

  18. Willing to participate in the Mack Master’s/Vista Tech competition
