Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Dallas, Texas. The role involves handling various responsibilities within the Finance Department, including payroll processing, revenue review and posting, general ledger maintenance, and internal controls. The Sr. Accountant will work closely with other members of the department and report directly to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process payroll for salaried and hourly staff, prepare and process payroll tax payments, and resolve payroll discrepancies

• Train staff members responsible for the entry of contributions, pledges, and accounts receivable

• Review and post revenue journal entries into the general ledger for multiple entities, and resolve any discrepancies

• Maintain accounting records and reconciliations for operating and restricted accounts, and assist the Director of Finance in month-end entries and allocations for multiple entities

• Implement and maintain internal controls, and document finance department processes related to contribution processing and reporting

• Handle account transfers as requested and provide monthly information as requested by ministry leaders and clergy

• Work closely with the Advancement department regarding pledge campaigns, reporting, and statement timing Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a staff accounting role or similar position.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, General Ledger maintenance, and Journal Entries.

• Must have a strong understanding and experience with Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary.

• Ability to Process Payroll and Reconcile Payroll effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Familiarity with accounting software and programs.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

• Strong ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
