If you're looking to further your career as a Staff Accountant, we are working on a permanent opportunity in the Hospitality industry that you might be interested in. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Dallas, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

• Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

Requirements

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Full Cycle Accounting experience

• Month end closings experience desired

• Foundational knowledge in Sales Tax

• Knowledge of auditing

• Knowledgeable of ERP systems

• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
