Robert Half Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the detail oriented Services industry. The role is based in Dallas, Texas, and involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing customer credit applications, and handling customer inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare month-end Journal entries

• Setup new vendors in the accounting system

• Handle computation, payments and filing of monthly, quarterly and annual sales and use tax returns

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations on assigned high transaction accounts with research and resolution of reconciling items

• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements

• Analyze the financial statements for discrepancies and communicate any issues to the Accounting Manager

• Enter rent and other accounting related invoices for payment

• Review and post cost uploads in the accounting system

• Support the month-end and year-end close process

• Assist with audit(s) as required

• Participate in accounting system upgrades and conversions, providing testing, reconciliation support, and process documentation

• Undertake other projects as necessary Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries

• Ability to close accounts at the end of each month

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Experience with monthly bank reconciliation, coding, and approving invoices

• Ability to prepare and record journal entries

• Knowledge of sales and use tax

• Ability to analyze, prepare, and review financial statements

• Experience with financial statement audits and consolidation

• Familiar with audit activities including financial and operational audits

• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
