Job Description:
Oversee all lighting aspects of the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology Operations, Productions, and Technology ( OPT ) team. Responsibilities include rigging, design, programming and operation, assist with setup, operation, and tear down of all Bass School OPT -serviced events. Responsible for all venues under the OPT purview including the Theatre, Lecture/Events Hall, Performance Hall, and all future venues that fall under the Bass School. Responsible for the maintenance, upgrade, troubleshooting, and procurement of all lighting equipment and accessories. This role is an all-in-one lighting position requiring the candidate to wear all hats from LX to lighting designer. Candidate will be responsible for training and overseeing student workers to operate and assist with show lighting / LX duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in fine art or a related field and one (1) year of experience as a technical theater professional or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Degree (BA/ BFA ) in Theatre Production, Lighting Design, or Entertainment Technology with an emphasis in lighting + 3 years’ experience as a Lighting Technician in live entertainment, Theatre, or events industry.
Or
Diploma (Technical School) + 5 years’ experience as a Lighting Technician in live entertainment, Theatre, or events industry.
