Quality Process Engineer - Plant WD

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is searching for a Quality Process Engineer to provide support for the Quality Engineering Department, production departments, outside vendors, and customers in regard to Product Quality and Service.

Essential Duties:

• Work on projects and assignments as required by the Quality Manager and/or Plant and Corporate management.

• Work with Yarn facilities as well as outside yarn vendors to optimize yarn systems and performance.

• Work closely with Customer Service in referring information on orders with quality problems.

• Properly determine product grade and disposition as needed during product development reviews, and during daily roll reviews / audits.

• Work with department managers of the individual production areas regarding quality issues and assist in determining root causes and developing effective corrective plans.

• Work closely with Financial Services in researching and resolving Customer claims.

• Analyze product testing and keep management informed of product performance

• Attend Daily Conformance Audits

• Attend R & D and MTR reviews.

• Manage and monitor SMS processes and procedures. Perform internal and external audits.

• Lead training for critical quality processes within the plant as required. Train and support quality inspectors within the production departments and within the Quality Department.

  Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (minimum four years)

• Experience in carpet manufacturing and ability to identify carpet defects

• Read, comprehend, and analyze data/reports
