Nuvance Health Administrative Associate in Danbury, Connecticut

Summary:

Provides exceptional customer service for patients while facilitating patient flow. Performs secretarial and office administrative support functions. Provides assistance in the daily operations of the department.

Per Diem position- Monday - Friday variable shifts 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as the initial point of contact for all patients & customers, greeting and answering phones in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing and directing calls appropriately.

2.Performs patient registration, scheduling and financial clearance.

  1. Communicates with insurance companies to verify benefits and coverage to ensure proper billing and authorization.

  2. Performs a wide variety of secretarial tasks to include answering phones, routing mail, record keeping and written & verbal communication.

  3. Maintains department inventory and supplies.

  4. May receive and process payments at point of service according to guidelines.

  5. Creates and maintains patient charts, including required documentation. Scans documents into the medical record and completes the discharge process from all systems. Archives paper charts according to established procedure.

  6. Processes medical records requests identified by Health Information Management, third party payers, attorneys, patients and caregivers.

  7. Under the direction of the Director or Coordinator, arranges for required maintenance and repair of the office space.

  8. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  9. Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.

  10. Performs other duties as required.

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Other Information:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Works on multiple projects.

Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.

Requires 3+ years experience providing administrative support.

CPR Certification - will be provided by the department.

Excellent customer service skills, pleasant, professional and articulate phone voice.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Experience with medical terminology, previous experience in a medical office setting.

Associate�s Degree preferred.

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
