Assistant Practice Manager, Norwalk, CT
Full-time, 40 hours; Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Summary:
The Assistant Practice Manager is responsible for providing management, and oversight to their assigned medical practice. The Assistant Practice Manager works with the Medical Director and clinical staff to optimize patient flow/processes as well as improve access to service and the patient experience. In addition, the Assistant Practice Manager will support the clinical staff’s ability to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. The Assistant Practice Manager is responsible for managing and assists with meeting key performance indicators related to practice operations, patient access/experience, quality, and finance.
Responsibilities:
Manages the day to day operations of the inpatient medical practice including oversight of clerical support staff and clinical support staff.
Assists in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term goals in conjunction with leadership to grow the business and increase market share based on Nuvance Health mission, vision, and values.
Measures, reviews, and records key performance indicators (KPIs) for review with Medical Director and Associate Medical Director of Hospital Medicine.
Reviews provider scheduling, hours/days of service and schedule changes to ensure appropriate coverage based on health system standards.
Proactively solves problems, administrative issues, or patient complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Assists in training and educating staff to ensure compliance with health system policies and procedure, compliance program and any federal/state regulations.
Schedules, sets-up and assists with monthly meeting for providers and communicates any practice or health system changes.
Works collaboratively with Medical Director to develop action plans for meeting or exceeding KPIs.
In conjunction with Medical Director, identifies any capital needs and reviews operating budget and ensures that budgets are met.
Provides guidance and assistance with scheduling new provider interviews, on-boarding, and any health plan credentialing activities.
Completes and submits payroll bi-weekly to Medical Practice payroll department.
Provides scheduling and calendar management assistance to the Medical Director.
Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal, Imaginative, Agile, Connected).
Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
2 years supervisory experience in inpatient medical practice management preferred.
Strong interpersonal, telephone and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
Working knowledge of practice management and electronic medical record software systems (Soarian/Cerner preferred).
Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT & HCPCS coding required.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
