Arconic is currently in search of an Environmental Engineer to join our team in Davenport, IA.

The employee will report to the Environmental Manager and will be accountable for:

• Assist in the management of all environmental issues, reports and permits as related to Air, Water and Wastewater, Storm Water, Residual Waste, TSCA, TRI, Tier II, Hazmat Reporting, and the facility ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Prepare and submit in a timely fashion all required reports, documents, samples, and data required by agencies to meet regulatory compliance obligations, including reports for signature by the Manufacturing Director.
• Assist with collection of multimedia samples (waste, water, soil) for field or laboratory testing.
• Provide communication and training that will ensure all levels of plant personnel understand their role and functions for identifying and resolving environmental issues and complying with environmental regulations.
• Provide procedures, training and systems that will minimize civil and criminal exposures of the plant, business unit, and corporate personnel due to plant environmental events and activities.
• Maintain awareness and pro-actively influence emerging and existing environmental laws/regulations which may impact plant operation.
• Negotiating environmental permits that reflect cost effective process design, reasonable operation constraints, and are consistent with corporate environmental policy and regulatory requirements.
• Functionally supervise the efforts of consultants, testing technicians to carry out permitting, field testing, and project work to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain records or data files as supporting documents for historical and/or future permits.
• Provides regulatory guidance to production staff on equipment operation and/or process modification as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Satellite Locations.

JOB DIMENSIONS

Along with the day-to-day responsibilities of the Environmental Engineer, the employee will be accountable for coordinating and auditing plant systems that ensure compliance with applicable site environmental requirements. The employee will also provide guidance, support, coaching, counseling, training, and leadership to the EHS Coordinators to perform the day-to-day performance of environmental activities within their respective departments.

Additionally, the Environmental Engineer will assist his/her supervisor with the development strategies and plans for Davenport Works.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Exceptional qualities as team player.
• Minimum completion of (1) Arconic Environmental Engineering Internship at Davenport Works with experience in a manufacturing industry (co-op and internships may be included)
