Aston Carter Accountant in Davis, California

Job Title: AccountantJob Description

We are seeking an Accountant to assist in the day-to-day finance and administration aspects of running our business. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, a desire to work as efficiently as possible, and excellent client-facing communication skills. You will be joining an established team with opportunities for professional development and significant intellectual contribution to the finance team as we continue to grow and build value for our investors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recording and reporting all company financial transactions and reconciliations, including preparation of monthly financial statements.

  • Assist with preparing and updating budgets/forecasts.

  • Input all invoices into accounting software (QuickBooks).

  • Arrange payments to vendors; match payments in QuickBooks; scan and attach all invoices.

  • Manage financial aspects of specific projects.

  • Ensure proper procedures are followed and an orderly accounting filing system is maintained.

  • Assist in ensuring a timely monthly close process.

  • Assist in annual audits.

  • Arrange filing/archiving of all accounting files.

  • Track down overdue invoices.

  • Add all new vendors to QuickBooks and Online Banking.

  • Manage vendor W-9 information.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in accounting, QuickBooks, and general ledger.

  • Experience with month-end close processes.

  • Experience in accounts payable processing, journal entry, and bank reconciliation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.

  • 0-2+ years of experience in a finance/administrative capacity preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks preferred.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational ability and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to consistently meet all deadlines.

  • Pleasant, friendly disposition with strong interpersonal communication skills.

Work Environment

The company has 52 employees, with 40 in R&D and the rest in administrative/operational roles. During the first 90 days, you will be in training and required to be onsite 100% of the time. Once training is complete, the schedule will move to a 50/50 hybrid model.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.86
