Dayton Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Specialist - Behavioral Crisis Center in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Behavorial Crisis ServicesSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) provides supportive, age-appropriate, trauma informed direct care to patients/families in the hospital and functions under the direction of the Manager, Behavioral Crisis Services. The BHS is responsible for psychosocial resource acquisition, safety monitoring, follow-up linkage, care coordination, and case management tasks as indicated by the clinical needs of patients and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities of the BHS also include the development and provision of therapeutic skills and psycho-education, completion of documentation, contribution to individualized treatment plans, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and actively participating as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team. All direct care of behavioral health patients is based on established standards and guidelines. The BHS demonstrates and models Dayton Children’s values through effective interaction with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care.

Department Specific Job Details:

  • Full time, 40 hours

  • Monday through Friday, 8-4:30p.

  • Bachelor degree in human services related field with 1-2 years of experience is required while 2-4 years is preferred.

  • CPR/First Aid and CPI are preferred.

  • LSW preferred not required

Certification/License Requirements:

LSW Ohio - Ohio Licensed Social Worker - Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board
