Description

Position Summary: The Computer Lab Monitor is a part time position that assures all computers are in working order at all times, supports community members in learning basic computer skills, assists people in searching for employment opportunities, and on-line job training opportunities that match their interest for career development.Essential Job Functions:• The Monitor will establish a permanent schedule of regular weekly hours during which he/she is available to support users. May include evening hours.• Maintains computer equipment in working order at all times.• Assures Computer Lab visitors behave in an appropriate manner.• Maintains cleanliness of computer lab and reports damage or user misuse to supervisor.• Reports technical problems to WestCare IT and support IT’s remote problem solving.• Teaches basic computer skills to computer lab users.• Assists users in identifying web sites as needed that meet their needs.• Helps users upload documents as required.

Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsEducation:• Graduation from a two year accredited educational institution with a degree in computer technology or related field, OR• Has completed two years of a four year accredited educational institution in the field of computer technology or related field.Experience and Competencies:• Ability to communicate technical issues with patience and clarity to non-technical persons• Must have multi-cultural sensitivity.• Must be empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, enthusiastic, and organized.• Some teaching experience is preferred.• Must be fully literate in the entire MS suite and have good understanding of social media platforms.
